Virtually Nick Leeson

So the credit crunch has finally encroached on that last bastion of Geek safety: the virtual world.

Space trading game Eve Online has suffered a virtual version of the credit crunch.
One of the game's biggest financial institutions lost a significant chunk of its deposits as a huge theft started a run on the bank.


So now that the real world of financial insecurity is causing virtual theft and runs on banks that only exist in an imaginary universe what can Geeks do to protect themselves?

I for one am taking no more chances. My Monopoly fortune will be über-protected in this shiny LEGO safe:
